Churchil Downs Incorporated Opens Newest Rosie’s Gaming Emporium In Emporia

Churchil Downs Incorporated (CDI), a flagship entertainment, gaming and horse racing firm based in Kentucky, has revealed the official opening of its latest Rosie’s Gaming Emporium, located in Emporia, a city in Virginia. Additionally, the newest gaming facility marks Rosie’s seventh gaming location in Virginia, with an official grand opening on September 25th.

Layout of the newest gaming facility:

Rosie’s Emporia represents the gaming facility, not a casino, according to managers within the firm. Additionally, the exact location of it is West Atlantic Street, near Interstate 95.

The facility includes simulcast horse racing, a restaurant, a bar, 150 historical horse racing machines and a wagering space where clients may bet on active horse racing occurring live nationwide, as reported by GlobeNewsWire. The opening ceremony showed firm’s devotion to the community and the triumphant “Rosie’s Gives Back” program, as it secured a donation of $25,000 to 5 local non-profit charitable organizations such as the Community Youth Center, Communities in Schools of Virginia, the Family YMCA of Emporia/Greenville, H.E.A.R Me Out Inc and Emporia Greenville Recreation Association.

Furthermore, clients have the choice to place wagers as low as 40 cents or as high as $100. Speaking about it, Chelsie Hardin, Director of Marketing, said: “A player recently won $451,000 on a $1 spin at one of Rosie’s locations.” Also, during February 2021, a male individual from Newport News broke the record for the largest HHR jackpot ever at Rosie’s in Hampton, taking home more than $900.000 with a $3 wager.

Commenting on the opening of Rosie’s Emporia, CEO of CDI Bill Carstanjen, commented: “This marks our seventh Rosie’s gaming property and adds to our tremendous success in Virginia, taking us to the Southern border of the state for the first time. The Emporia location builds on CDI’s commitment to providing top-quality jobs and generating significant tax revenues across the Commonwealth while delivering quality entertainment.”

A very profitable investment:

In terms of employment opportunities, over 100 part-time and full-time jobs will be provided and $1 million in yearly tax income will be collected for the City of Emporia by the mentioned gaming establishment. Moreover, since the first Rosie’s officially opened 5 years ago, over $400 million has been funded to support communities across the Commonwealth of Virginia, 1,200 new jobs have been created and right now more than $54 million is paid annually in state and local tax income. Also, via the aforementioned Rosie’s Gives Backprogram, workers have reported more than 2,500 hours of service in their respected communities, and the firm has given more than $2.620.000 in donations to local nonprofits and businesses, as reported by Independent Messenger.
